Pink Lady® apples hosted their 16th annual Crafts for Cancer event on Saturday, 25 October 2025, at Simondium Country Lodge. Every year, this event is held to raise funds for the Tygerberg Hospital Cancer Transport Fund.

At this event, 100 ladies participated, resulting in R110 000 being raised for the Tygerberg Hospital Cancer Transport Fund. This means that almost 120 additional individuals will benefit from the Fund.

The Transport Fund was established at Tygerberg Hospital in 2010. The need for this fund was identified and initiated by a dedicated social worker at the Breast Clinic, Professor Apffelstaedt. What started as a small-scale initiative to assist one patient in need , has since grown to a fully-fledged fund that has helped countless individuals and continues to grow.

This year marks our 17th time hosting this beloved event. This year, attendees will enjoy a fun, hands-on wreath-making session. They will be guided through the process of making and assembling a wreath from scratch, before decorating their own pre-made wreaths. It is a creative activity where guests get to learn, have fun, and leave with something beautiful, all while supporting an important cause.

In keeping with this year's theme, bows will feature prominently throughout the event. Just like traditional cancer ribbons, the bow symbolises our commitment to celebrating hope and resilience but in a fresh and uplifting Pink Lady® way.
